Estate Planning for Second Marriages

Second Marriages often present unique and dynamic circumstances. Often times a person want to provide for his or her current spouse during the spouse's lifetime, while leaving the property to his or her children upon the spouse's death. Th only way to achieve those goals is through a Trust. Trusts are flexible and can deal with unique circumstances. To avoid disputes between the current spouse and children from a prior marriage in the event you become incapacitated, powers of attorney are also important. The person you name as your "Agent" under the powers of attorney will be in charge of your affairs in the event you become incapacitated. This may be your spouse or a child from your previous marriage but someone should be appointed.
